Mahatma Gandhi all throughout his life preached and also practiced compassion, non-violence, simplicity, and honesty as the path to Truth. To inculcate those values, to make the world better and more humane, we at the Gandhi Films Foundation have organized a congregation of school children who will illustrate the ideas of Gandhiji and take an oath on his birthday to live accordingly.
An event was organized at the University of Mumbai's Convocation Hall, gathering approximately 300 students to create artwork on "Honesty or Simplicity." This is not a competition nor is there any fee for participation.
Students are encouraged to discuss values with parents, teachers, and peers. Multiple expression formats are accepted including drawing, calligraphy, and text.
Schools nationwide are encouraged to organize programmes between October 2 and January 30. Free pledge certificates are offered by the foundation to all participating students.
